TINAHELY COUNTY WICKLOW TRAIL WALKING FESTIVAL

17th - 18th April 2010

Tinahely Walkers Welcome are hosting our first Trail Walking Festival which will take place on the weekend of April 17th./18th. 2010.

The festival is being held to mark the launch of three new Failte Ireland Approved looped walks totalling 31km.
A weekend of walking and entertainment is planned.

There will be a programme of events for the weekend to include Vintage car display, Street Market and live music.

Saturday 17th April 2010

“A” Walk: Kyle Loop

Suitable For: Experienced Walkers

Registration & Start Point:Tinahely Community Centre

Distance: 20 km

Walking Time: 5-6 hours

Ascent: 500m

Registration: 9.30 a.m.

“B” Walk: Ballycumber Loop

Suitable For: Experienced Walkers

Registration & Start Point:Tinahely Community Centre

Distance: 14km

Walking Time: 4-5 hours

Ascent: 400m

Registration: 10.30 a.m.

“C” Walk: Mangans Loop

Suitable For: Regular Walkers

Registration & Start Point:Tinahely Community Centre

Distance: 9km

Walking Time: 2.5-3 hours

Ascent: 300m

Sunday April 18th 2010

“B” Walk: Linear walk on The Wicklow Way

Suitable For: Experienced Walkers

Registration & Start Point:Tinahely Community Centre

Distance: 15km.

Walking Time: 4 hours

Ascent: 250m

Registration: 9.30 a.m.

“C” Walk: Railway Walk and Tomnafinnoge Woods walk and TREASURE HUNT

Suitable For: All Walkers (Ideal for Families)

Registration & Start Point:Tinahely Community Centre

Distance: 8km

Walking Time: 2-2.5 hrs

Ascent: 0m

Registration: 12.00 noon
