Mountain Rescue Spink, Glendalough

The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team rescued two young women from the steep ground on Spink Mountain, Glendalough late yesterday evening (Saturday 26th Jan) after one of the women fell approximately 10m/30ft.

The Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team, worked in partnership with the Wicklow Mountains National Park boat to extract the casualty and her companion from the gully.

The 20 year old Carlow woman was treated at the scene for arm fractures and suspected spinal injuries after her fall and was stretcher lowered by Mountain Rescue Crag specialists to the awaiting WMNP boat and transferred to hospital by ambulance. Her 17 year old companion was also guided to safety.

On Sunday 27th, a stand by was issued by the MR Teams to be ready for a missing person search. The missing man turned up without incident.
