The Walkers Association Website has a team handling the central functions of this website, making content entry easy for the whole organisation.

The members of the WAI website group have a number of people with various skills and experience. This includes commercial experience such as web-based training and also voluntary work on such sites as the www.wayfarersassociation.com, MountainViews.ie and the Mountaineering Council of Ireland website (1997-2002). Other members bring experience and interest in specific content areas such as Challenge Walks.

Based on previous experience with various voluntary organisation websites, this one is based on an advanced CMS (Content Management System) which has several benefits including:

Easier entry systems for articles by non-specialists.
Easier use by visitors with good menus, good search and "tagging" of articles.
Makes it easy for non-experts to take up roles such as "Moderator".
Easier innovation with the many features available including polls, forums, RSS, multimedia etc.
