Irish Guide Dogs For the Blind 5th Sept. 2010   

This itinerary runs east to west along the hills on the south of the large alpine lakes of Italy. It starts from the biggest Italian lake, Lake of Garda, and along the river Mincio following the cycle path “del Sole”.

There is both a Hillwalking and Cycling option.

Some of these lakes are surrounded by villas and gardens with traditional Italian architecture and the cycling itinerary crosses vineyards and runs between the mountains in the North and the largest plain of Italy, south.

Nice scenery, important historical towns and traditions accompany the cyclist during this week, l as well as landscapes that were often an inspiration to writers, poets and painters.

_________________________________________________________________________                            PROGRAM WALKING GROUP Day 1 –Individual arrival to Peschiera del Garda  
Day 2 –Peschiera del Garda – Desenzano and train to  Brescia  
Day 3 –Brescia to Sulzano by train  - walking tour in Montisola  and train to Bergamo  
Day 4 –Bergamo – Walking in the hills of Bergamo and train to  Garlate  
Day 5 –Garlate  to Lecco by train – walking tour on Monte Barro and train to Lake of Como   
Day 6 –Como to Varese by train – walking tour of Campo dei fiori until Gavirate and train to Arona  Day 7 –Arona. After breakfast end of the tour.

PROGRAM CYCLING GROUP Day 1 –Individual arrival to Peschiera del Garda  
Day 2 –Peschiera del Garda – Brescia  km 72  
Day 3 –Brescia – Bergamo   km 71       
Day 4 –Bergamo – Lago d’Iseo – Garlate   km 42  
Day 5 –Garlate  – Lake of Como    km 40     
Day 6 –Como – Lake of Varese – Arona  (Lake Maggiore)   km 71   
Day 7 –Arona. After breakfast end of the tour.   

   Deposit €300 Total  amount to raise €2500Single supplement   €190,00 The price for walking and cycling also includes: accommodation 3 nights in hotel*** and 3 nights in hotel**** in double room with private facilities; half board from dinner on the first day until after breakfast on the last day; luggage transfer from hotel to hotel; cycling guide English speaking; walking guide English speaking; minivan support for cycling group.
