The Ulster Federation of Rambling Clubs

Ulster Federation
of Rambling Clubs

Comprising some 25 clubs this thriving body offers a number of services to its
members from inspiration to insurance and from walking information to organising
clubs.  As with the Walkers Association or Ireland, UFRC treats walking in
its various forms such as rambling or hill-walking as a an activity or sport in
it's own right.

Visit their site for a great overview
of walking in one part of Ireland.

Affiliation, Cooperation and Recognition.

For those that believe that being the "Governing Body" or "Representative
Body" is of over-riding importance, the UFRC is just that: the Governing Body
for Rambling in Northern Ireland  . (See
here
)

It is affiliated to the UK Ramblers
Association
.  This is a logical affiliation for walkers in Northern
Ireland.  It is also worth mentioning to people in any part of Ireland that
are interested in Challenge Walks that the UK Long Distance Walkers Association
(LDWA) is a component of the UK Ramblers.
