The Mountains of the Moon in Uganda is one of the most unique areas on
this planet and A-Z Children’s Charity are offering you a unique
opportunity to join Olympic Boxing medallist Kenny Egan on this
challenging trek to raise much needed funds and awareness for their
work.

Over the first week of this challenge the trek will take
participants through Ruwenzori National Park now an UNESCO National
Heritage site. This Park covers a magnificent environment for both
experienced and casual hikers. These legendary mountains exhibit
spectacular scenic beauty and provide a unique habitat for many rare
and indigenous plants and animals.

The second week of the challenge will take place near the capital of
Uganda, Kampala where participants will build a house from foundation
to rooftop for a family within the A-Z programme who are living with
HIV. While building this house you will be able to immerse yourself in
the local culture giving you a rare opportunity to experience life in
an African village.

A-Z Children's Charity is one of the only development organisations
to provide community support to HIV infected children. A-Z enable
these children gain access to anti-retroviral medication (anti HIV)
and nutrition. These children would be dead without this medicine. 80%
of HIV infected children in developing countries die due to the lack
of anti retroviral medication and adequate nutrition. 100% of the HIV
infected children A-Z look after, health has improved and all the
children of school going age are now attending school. A-Z also run a
sponsorship programme where we have nearly 200 orphans and vulnerable
children going to school thanks to donors from Ireland. We are also
the first organisation to build a children's library in Uganda.

A-Z Children's Charity was started by concerned individuals who
witnessed firsthand the plight of the Ugandan orphans. The founder,
Brian Iredale, first visited Uganda in 1997 during his 5000 km charity
solo cycle through east and southern Africa. There are presently 2
million children orphaned due to HIV/ AIDS in Uganda. A-Z Children's
Charity is responding to the needs of these children.

This challenge will take place from the 18th June to 2nd July 2010 and
is open to anybody with a sense of adventure. For further information
