Arthritis Ireland Pick A Peak

Have an adventure to remember with your friends or family this summer and join the hundreds of others who will Pick A Peak to climb, in aid of Juvenile Arthritis.

What is Pick a Peak?
Its a fun and novel hill-walk that will have teams on top of peaks all over Ireland! This unique challenge is designed for people of all ages and fitness abilities just pick the peak thats best for you and your family or friends and climb it on Saturday July 11th.

We have put together a list of over 50 peaks to choose from, or choose your own. Its not only a great reason to get out and enjoy Irelands landscape but all funds raised go towards providing services for children and young people with arthritis in your community (see below for details)Pictured above at this year's launch of Pick A Peak is Irish rugby player Girvan Dempsey, comedian Karl Spain, Newstalk presenter Claire Byrne and 11 year old intrepid explorer Sean McSharry who will join the hundreds of people from all across Ireland who will participate in Pick A Peak this year.      What Peaks are included?


We have a list of over 50 peaks to choose from call 01 6618188 or download the full list of peaks here.  But no need to let that hold you back, if there is a peak that you would rather climb, just let us know and we will add it to the list.  

How can you and your friends get involved?
All you need is a team of four, or better still several teams of four!

Step 1:     Just Pick your Peak - see www.arthritisireland.ie for the complete list.


Step 2:     Register today by downloading a registration form here . Each team of 4 pays a registration fee of just €25pp.


Step 3:     Fundraise for children and young people affected by arthritis - you can set up your own online fundraising page by clicking here


Step 4:     Climb your Peak on Saturday July 11th or join the Arthritis Ireland hillwalking gang in climbing Carrickgollogan, Co. Dublin.

It couldnt be easier and gives everyone an excuse for a great day out!So, dust of those hiking boots again this year and join us in having great fun whilst making a real difference to lives of people affected of arthritis.Fantastic reason to get together with your family and friends this summer Great way to enjoy Irelands outdoors Your team will make a real difference to the lives children affected by arthritis Your team will be help provide services for people and children with arthritis in the community.

  
€100 pays for over 50 parents of children affected by Juvenile Arthritis to overcome the worry of bringing up a child with arthritis by providing free information to help them and their teachers better understand and manage their condition.

€500 pays for trained volunteers to provide emotional and practical support to over 40 people affected by arthritis including parents of children affected by this chronic disease via our Arthritis Helpline.

€1000 will teach 2 young people affected by Juvenile Arthritis how to take back control of their disease and their life by attending one of our life changing programmes including Living Well with Arthritis  

This challenge has been designed to adhere with the MCIs Good Practice Guide and Environmental Policy in order to uphold an awareness of walking safety and environmental responsibility in the uplands.
