WAI / MV Gala Evening 2012
Walkers Association of Ireland / Mountain Views Gala Evening 2012
No two ways about it . . . . . but what a night . . . !
Indeed, indeed, indeed, both a humorous and a very educating evening was had by one and all at the WAI / MV Gala Evening 2012.
The Lansdowne Hotel once again proved to be a great choice of venue but it was the wonderful natural nature of all the speakers that truly made the night such a great success . . . . .
After a short welcome from Dónal Finn, Simon Stewart kicked-off the evening by showing us how GPS and Trails are becoming more and more integrated within our “social networks”.

Mark Brennan followed with incredible detective-work and stories about the Military Road to Glencree.
Ulster’s Hills were painted with all the grace and love that they so deserve by the learn-ed Harry Goodman and before going to the interval, Paul Moore proved his controversial theorem beyond all reasonable doubt that ye who dare to build any form of pylon on any given mountain will be condemned to hell for all eternity! Q.E.D.
It was the wondrous and joyous Éanna Ní Lamhna who was this year’s guest speaker and she certainly delighted all with her incredible array of knowledge of all matters flora and fauna.
Hard earned awards were bestowed and new friends met up with old, there quite simply were not enough hours in the given night for all the great entertainment as hosted by the Walkers Association of Ireland and MountainViews.
Sincere thanks to all who continue to support and make such evenings memorable and of course possible.
