Wicklow MR Teams Rescue Man Near Enniskerry

At approx. 14:30 this afternoon (Sunday 09/03/08), Gardai in Wicklow requested the expertise of the Glen of Imaal Mountain Rescue Team and Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team in the rescue of male hill-walker.

The man and a friend had been out walking near Crone Wood, Enniskerry when he sustained a suspected fracture to his ankle. The man said his foot went down a bog-hole and as it twisted, he heard a snap.

Mountain rescue personnel treated him at the scene and stretcher-carried him out to an awaiting 4x4 ERHA Ambulance. He was then transferred to hospital.
